I remember distinctly spending a very good majority of my time in college wishing it away. I finished my Bachelors degree in four years, which, from what I understand, is nearly impossible these days. But, I did it. I overloaded myself each quarter with classes. I went to school every summer. I studied like mad. I really didn’t party at all, and I was in San Luis Obispo, which is saying a lot! I had my nose buried in books the whole time I was in college. I was so focused on getting out of school and not having to rely on anyone anymore. Talk about driven! I didn’t even realize I was so busy focusing on the future that I was pretty much pissing away my present. Okay, not pretty much, I was…
I look back now and realize that I should not have been in so much of a hurry to get out of college. From what I understand, the college years are some of the best years of peoples lives. I was miserable! All I cared about was getting good grades, so I could get a good job, so I could provide for my family, etc. What I didn’t realize was that as soon as I got out of college, I couldn’t wait for me to complete what I needed to get my license as a Certified Public Accountant. Then, I couldn’t wait to start a family. Then, I couldn’t wait until my kids were out of diapers. Then…Well, you get the picture.
